The financial justification for investing in a waterjet cutting machine had been clear to us for a long time. However, our main concern was the transition from outsourcing to bringing the fabrication process completely in-house. Given our constantly strained resources and heavy workload, we weren’t sure we could spare the time required for training and onboarding.
At the time we decided to purchase the machine, we were building just two boats a year. As soon as we put the waterjet into operation, the number of delivered vessels skyrocketed to eight within that same year.
Since SAWV is a subsidiary of a Chicago-based US company, our corporate management initially insisted that all manufacturing equipment be imported directly from the United States.
We are extremely satisfied with the Waterjet 6020 machine we purchased. With over 3,000 operating hours, the machine has proven to be exceptionally reliable and stable, with zero downtime or breakdowns.
