Arpel EPS HVD cutting line represents the pinnacle of expanded polystyrene (EPS) processing technology. Designed for the continuous production of high-quality sheets and profiles, this line efficiently transforms EPS blocks into final products for the construction and RV industries, fully compliant with EN 13163 and ASTM C578 standards.








An integrated system designed for safe and efficient feeding of the cutting line can be installed either inline with the cutting direction or positioned at a 90° angle, allowing flexible adaptation to the available production layout. The block tilting unit is equipped with a hydraulic platform that transfers the blocks to the begining of the line. After accurate centering by pneumatic liners, each block is gently laid into a horizontal position onto the chain conveyor, from where it is smoothly and consistently conveyed to the horizontal cutting unit. This operating cycle ensures continuous operation, high productivity, and a reliable material flow throughout the entire production process.
The horizontal cutter offers a maximum capacity of up to 100 cutting wires. For configurations exceeding 60 wires, the station is equipped with dual oscillating frames to ensure stable and accurate cutting performance. With an opening size of 1,320 × 1,320 mm, the machine is designed to handle maximum block dimensions efficiently. An automatic wire positioning robot enables fast and precise setup, while independent positioning of the left and right wire ends allows the cutting of trapezoidal shapes, making the system ideal for producing sloped panels and pitched roof insulation elements.
The vertical cutting units offer a maximum capacity of up to 30 wires for the V-type cutter and up to 60 wires for the D-type cutter. The V cutter can be equipped with an oscillating mechanism to further increase cutting speed and overall productivity, ensuring efficient performance across a wide range of production requirements.
Advanced power controllers with automatic adjustment of temperature and cutting speed based on EPS density, combined with oscillating wire motion, enable an increase in cutting speed of up to 15%. Thanks to a unique wire cooling system, higher operating speeds are achieved without the risk of wire breakage or material melting, ensuring stable, reliable, and high-quality cutting performance.
Our advanced scrap collection systems—side, top, and bottom—ensure a clean and efficient production process while maximizing raw material utilization and minimizing material loss.
After the cutting process is completed, the blocks are conveyed by a motorized conveyor to the de-stacking unit, where the system automatically detects the thickness of individual sheets and their quantity, forming the correct number of EPS packs accordingly. Once stacking is finished, the packs are transferred directly to the packing machine. The unit supports two different pack sizes, ensuring a high level of flexibility, accuracy, and efficiency within the EPS processing and packaging line.
When combined with the de-stacking unit, the orbital wrapping machine automatically wraps the prepared packs with the foil and transfers them onward to the palletizing unit, ensuring a fully automated and continuous packaging process.
Full automation through a Siemens PLC system allows seamless integration with auxiliary equipment—from automatic packing and labeling to robotic palletizing—ensuring efficient, coordinated, and highly reliable production workflows.
